In a randomized, assessor-blinded study of 20 healthy women, one finished fluid containing 1% hyaluronic acid, 5% glycerin, and Centella asiatica stem-cell extract increased hydration and reduced transepidermal water loss versus an untreated site for up to 24 hours. The study did not isolate either humectant, test separately layered products, or compare against the other formula ingredients; the tested product was also industry-connected.
