AHA derived from milk — larger molecule than glycolic acid, gentler exfoliation. Has a secondary humectant effect, making it better tolerated than glycolic for dry or sensitive skin. At 5–10% promotes cell turnover with less irritation. Good entry point for those new to chemical exfoliation.
