Vitamin E (Tocopherol)
토코페롤
TOCOPHEROL
Fat-soluble antioxidant that protects cell membranes from oxidative damage. Crucial partner to Vitamin C — the two form a synergistic antioxidant pair. Tocopherol also has emollient properties. Ferulic acid (when added alongside) dramatically improves the stability of both vitamins C and E in formulation.
Ingredient Interactions
A study of a specific topical solution found that 15% L-ascorbic acid plus 1% alpha-tocopherol provided greater experimental UV protection in pig skin than either antioxidant alone. The finding is formula- and concentration-specific, does not validate every separate-product combination, and does not replace sunscreen.
